Here’s something to celebrate in 2021: New ways to (safely) meet folks in the community and grow your personal and professional network! A new Canton-based networking group, aptly titled Canton Business Club, is coming to Reformation’s Canton location to offer up more opportunities to connect with business owners in the northern part of Cherokee County.
Canton Business Club is an extension of a current networking group, Woodstock Business Club, that meets weekly and has seen significant growth since its inception last year.
About Woodstock Business Club
Woodstock Business Club began in November 2019 after a group of local professionals broke away from traditional business networking groups and decided to simultaneously start their own.
Woodstock Business Club, or WBC, started in November of 2019 and began their meetings at Freight Kitchen and Tap in Downtown Woodstock. Their meetings are more traditional in structure, but are anything but formal. Their tagline, “We get sh*t done!” is commonly referred to at each meeting, which are held weekly on Thursday mornings from 8:30-9:30am, right after Young Professionals IN WDSTK. The group started small with 10-15 regular attendees, but grew steadily as more visitors came each week to discuss how they could work together to offer referrals and grow their businesses.
Attendees are encouraged to interact and meet with each other weekly outside of the regular meetings to get coffee, learn about referral opportunities, and strengthen their relationships. The group also has a monthly evening social held at local establishments in downtown Woodstock to show support and interact with restaurant and business owners.
A Spring Pivot
After a strong start in the winter and early months of 2020, the WBC leadership team decided to make the switch to Zoom-based meetings in March to help with the cause of flattening the curve for Covid-19. The group met weekly via Zoom for much of late Spring and through the Summer months, and slowly reintroduced socially-distanced, in-person meetings in the fall. Now the meetings are held in the lower gathering room area of Hartman Law Firm, located off Towne Lake Parkway.
The group has also reintroduced their evening socials this fall, and have held a few outdoors under the Elm tree at Reformation’s Woodstock location.
Growth into Canton
Now, the group is extending the success from WBC into the thriving city of Canton, which is quickly becoming a hub for the northern part of Cherokee County. Canton Business Club’s meetings will be held at Reformation Canton, located at 225 Reformation Pkwy.
Reformation’s Canton location is part of The Mill on Etowah, a mixed-use development that has retail shops, the brewery, and a large outdoor space for concerts and events. The Mill will welcome more businesses and restaurants in 2021 as it continues to grow, and CBC felt that partnering with Reformation at their Canton location is the perfect start to encourage business owners in the area to come network and meet others in the community.
The first official meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 6th from 8:00-9:00am, and business owners are welcome to attend. To find out more information about future meetings and other events, follow along on their Facebook page.
